Our House is Coming Along!

Our house has been coming along so fast that I am just now putting pictures up of it!

Our house is our new favorite hobby! We go and look at it at least once if not twice a week. We are in love with it! And it is way more from buying, decorating, and planning your house than it is planning a wedding, by the way. One thing is for sure, your fiance/husband will definitely be more involved in the house process than the wedding! :) I don't blame him.

Here is the view of our living room. We do not have brown paper bag floors, by the way. :) It's actually wood they just covered up.

Our Dining Room. This is where we will also be putting our Christmas tree, since we don't have dining room furniture. (And yes, we have our Christmas tree all planned out but we still don't have a couch.)

Paul picked the countertops so I had to show them off. :)

Slip N' Slides

So this is what happens when Andrew's girlfriend goes to Hawaii and he hangs out with Paul. They build a 45 feet slip and slide. And they play on it... for an hour plus. :) But I love them.

First they started by sliding on their stomachs, which of course, hurts. So they upgraded to a boogie board. And it seemed to work really well for them. So they had contest to see who would go furthest. Andrew won most of the time. But that's because he's the smallest and has nothing to him so he just slides all 45 feet.

Little Boys...

So Paul and I took our Godson out to the beach today. Oh the things you can learn from a four year old little boy!

1. Children are ALWAYS A.D.D. when you are in a hurry or in a store.

2. When they say they have to go potty, they HAVE to go potty.

3. Everything is a reality.

4. When they tell you about Jonah and there are pirates in the story, they're telling you the Veggie Tales Version.

5. Jesus lives "up." And he bled. A lot.

6. When they tell you that Jesus just stayed around and talked to people after He came back to life, you know he's watched the Passion Play at Church.

7. ALL boys are fascinated by cars. All boys. All ages.

8. $3.33 for a bucket and shovel is a worthwhile invest for the beach and a child.

9. They have no fear.

10. Waves "spit" at you. Not crash. They spit.

House

Paul & I had been praying about finding the perfect place to live. We looked at condos, used homes that weren't in very good shape, and even thought about just renting. But then Paul found a floor plan online that he liked through Standard Pacific Homes. So out of curiosity to just see the home, we went one day and looked at an already built home. We walked in and in two seconds we just knew it was the home for us!

However, we had our first of many obstacles... The house was going to be ready ASAP. We couldn't afford to move in until about the time we got married. But, we prayed and God answered our prayers! There was one last home in the neighborhood that was being built with that floor plan. It would be ready in June/July! And as of this past weekend, the home will be ready in June!!!!

The next obstacle we ran in to was how would we afford things like a washer, dryer, fridge, etc? Plus prepaids, closing costs, and a down payment! (There is such much into buying a home!) It was all adding up way too fast. But we prayed and again and the seller worked it out that they would pay closing costs, prepaids, AND for the washer, dryer, and fridge which were all top of line!!!

And as if that weren't enough, the seller started reading through everything else the house included... wood floors, upgraded tile flooring, tile countertops, tile bathrooms, upgraded tub & shower, bay windows, back porch, perfect size yard, right next to a cul-de-sac, friendly neighborhood, upgraded lighting, high ceiling, etc! It was everything we wanted in a home but were too afraid to ask for because of cost!

We are SO blessed to have found this home! We thank God everyday for it and we aren't even there yet! For those of you looking for a home right now... DON'T GIVE UP! Keep praying and God will take care of you in His will and timing.

Keep praying for our home though! We are still doing paperwork and they are still in the process of building.

Okay i have to admit, one of my favorite parts about being engaged is having engagement pictures done!!! We have the wonderful blessing to work with Darice Michelle who is incredible at what she does!!! And we just love her. Darice comes HIGHLY recommend by Paul & I!

Wedding Expenses...

For all you engaged girls out there, you know exactly what I'm feeling. And if you don't, you will soon. And if you still don't, count your blessings!

One of my favorite things about being engaged is definitely planning for our big day. But there is certainly at lot of expenses that I did not realize that go into one single wedding! So my fiance, being the loving sweet, supportive, husband to be, leans over to me and says "Baby, let's just elope." lol

If my mother is reading this, don't worry, Mom. We aren't eloping.

Paul & I talked and we've both decided that our wedding day is simply a day where all of our family and friends get together and just have one fun party! So why is that so expensive?? Beats me.

As for everyone involved in our wedding and helping us make our dream day come true... THANK YOU! We could NOT do any of this without you!!! We are so greatly appreciative of you.

And for those of you girls who aren't in this situation yet... my advice to you is this: No matter how many flowers, tool, candles, dresses, etc you have, at the end of the day it doesn't make you any more married. Just have fun that day :)

The Babysitters

Paul & I love watching the Traylor children together. For those who don't know them, they are incredible foster parents and amazing people! We do anything in the world for them. And we love watching their children. So last weekend we decided to take three of them out for night to give the sweet parents a break and a romantic night to themselves. We had Hennesy (4), Robbie (4), and Damien (18 mo). And WOW the personalities they have!!!! We took them to Bono's and then to bowling with my brother and his girlfriend, Katy.

Damien- He does NOT go to boys at all. So the only ones who were allowed to hold him (based off his standards) were Katy & I. However, he got over it before then end of the night and gave the boys a chance. :) But he is an amazing little boy who is very busy! I think all boys are busy, though. And we had three of them! haha

Hennesy- He is a sweetheart! He has these big blue eyes that will get him out of any trouble he gets himself into. At dinner, we reminded Hennesy that he was to be sweet & polite to the waiters who were helping us (God bless them!) So at one point in the dinner, he decided that he needed a crayon to color his paper with. He holds up his hand in the air until a waiter comes to answer him. And he did not put that hand down until he got his crayon. At the end of dinner, Hennesy ran up to hug a waitress (not the one we had but they were all dressed the same so he didn't know). haha Isn't he too cute???
Robbie- Oh Robbie... We LOVE Robbie. He is the Traylors' adopted son and boy is he something! He is incredibly sweet and a hilarious little boy! He does not sit still, just to give you an idea of his personality. And Paul & I are convinced he has ADD. haha After we got home from bowling, we went and played the wii bowling game. This is the video of him bowling...

As you can imagine... our night was NOT dull!!

"I Love Sarah Day!"

So my fiance decides to make an "I Love Sarah Day." (See why I love him???) First he let me sleep in. (Wohoo!!!) Then he takes me to lunch at Dave & Busters. Which we had a blast at! There was hardly anyone there since it was in the afternoon and we practically had the whole place to ourselves! Then he took me to our favorite place of all.. THE BEACH! We have been craving the beach for some time now and we finally got to go! Despite the fact that is was freezing, it was perfect! Then we came home to my house and watched movies. THEN he gave me an incredible massage!!! Isn't he phenomenal????? I just love him!!!!

A Little About Us

We decided to keep up a blog for our families and friends to keep up to date with everything going on! So I decided to start with a little bit about us.

Paul & I met through our Sunday School class and our jobs back in April. While we were getting to know each other, we were determined to only stay friends. But then we kept getting to know each other... We became best friends very quickly. We had everything in common. We had the same passions, the same expectations, the same dreams. It soon began to turn in to more than friends. However, I was a little more stubborn than Paul and was convinced we were going to stay friends longer than he wanted to wait.

But i gave in and before you knew it, it was the end of May and we were dating. :) We were absolutely inseparable. Within one month, we just knew it was meant to be. We were beyond head over heels in love!

In December, Paul finally proposed! I had decided that we needed a date night. He took me away to St. Augustine for the evening one day after work. He surprised by taking me ice skating then out to dinner at Harry's Seafood, which was our first date in St. Augustine and one of our favorite restaurants. The skating was tons of fun and the dinner was delicious! Paul was incredibly anxious to get our check though. I of course am completely clueless that he was anxious to go so he could pop the question. We finally got out of the restaurant and start walking back to his car. When we got there, Paul stopped me and told me that he had a gift for me. I thought, "How sweet! He really went all out for tonight!" He pulls out a ring box and gets down on knee to propose. I was completely shocked and wish desperately that I could tell you what he said, but I was surprised that I honestly can't remember. I almost forgot to even say "yes!" So December 4th, after seven months of dating, we were finally engaged!

We are getting married on June 12th of this year and are in the middle of planning everything you could possibly think of and then some! We have such wonderful families and friends that are helping us getting things together. My sweet sweet boss will be marrying us, which completely makes my wedding! My brother's beautiful girlfriend, and one of my dearest friends will be my Maid of Honor. And WOW she is AWESOME! I love you, Katy! Paul's brother will be his Best Man, which we are incredibly excited about!

But not as excited as we are about FINALLY getting to marry each other! We are completely ecstatic about spending our lives together. We've waited for this our whole lives and it's finally here!
